Victoria Fernandez
Senior Service Coordinator
Ms. Fernandez supervises social services at Las Palmas 's Summercrest community. Ms. Fernandez joined the National City Collaborative in May 2003 and has made outstanding contributions to the Summercrest residents' lives and environment, promoting incredible positive change. She has developed a number of noteworthy service enriched programs, including, but not limited to: computer education classes; daily lunch program; on-site mental health services, including individual and marriage therapy; medical and nutrition program; exercise classes; and senior social hour. These programs empower residents, support self-sufficiency and promote a sense of well being.
A Graduate of Arellano University, Ms. Fernandez holds a Master's Degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Philippine Normal University. She was a member of the High Honors Society. Her experience ranges from teaching elementary and secondary school to pharmaceutical and nutritional work.
Ms Fernandez is the recipient of the National HUD Neighborhood Networks' Catalyst for Community Change Award. This award honors Ms. Fernandez, whose dedicated commitment and outreach efforts have brought about measurable change at Summercrest Apartments.
