Plymouth West Apartments – Service Goals

Our goals are to empower residents and support self sufficiency by providing supportive services. Programs are offered at no cost to our residents. Listed below are some of the services provided, including but not limited to:

1. Education Programs
Computer education: The computer education begins with the computer instructor assessing the skill level of each participant. The instructor then works with each resident to help them individually and as a class, effectively navigate computer programs, the internet and other computer capabilities. The goal of computer education is to empower the families and support increased education and independence.

2. Service Coordinator
Currently, a Senior Service Coordinator works full time at Plymouth West Apartments. Her role is to help senior residents obtain needed supportive services from the community, and enable them to continue living as independently as possible in their homes. Specifically, the Service Coordinator implements and supervises supportive services, education and health programs.

Nutrition class
Diabetes class
Exercise class
Fall prevention workshop

4. Financial classes to develop residents’ money management skills (checking and saving accounts), helping them manage and maintain their income, thereby ensuring financial stability.
Credit and financial counseling
Debt and housing counseling
Training and education on the wise use of credit
Development of finance knowledge

5. Other monthly workshops:
Intergenerational activities with Boy Scouts
